From day one working with Drew and Venture on our new website, I knew that it was going to turn out great! Drew and his team laid out a clear plan for the website development that allowed all members of our firm to contribute and participate in the process and at the same time provided a structure to keep the project on track and on budget. The result is a website that truly reflects our acoustical practice today with built in flexibility for growth and evolution as we gain international presence in the world of performing art acoustics.
A global acoustical consulting firm defining sound for the next generation, the Akustiks website marks the next step in just how flexible Venture is by employing a number of highly refined custom development elements. Likewise, Akustiks opted to have Venture perform all custom work along with the project management, site migration, and complete account management upgrades.
Akustiks became a Venture user in 2013 and in 2020, they opted for a major design update. Their already large project catalog was even bigger and needed enhanced categorization and indexing along with an all new single project page layout.
Their existing Build-a-Brochure functionality saw enhancements to mobile usability and performance improvements. Overall, the project successfully produced a website that was even easier and more intuitive to navigate and use.
Website Highlights
- Build-a-Brochure: This custom functionality allows users to create their very own downloadable PDF brochure with content from the projects, services, and profile pages. The system is point and click simple for the end user and for Akustiks, all they have to do is upload a pdf via the respective content’s backend admin panel. The pdf file can be updated at any time and any project can be separated from those with a downloadable pdf as online-only content.
- Custom Graphic Design: Building on top of Venture’s existing graphics framework, we were able to easily design a wide variety of design customizations such as the Uber-Menu styling, logo, homepage slider, and main navigation.
- Custom Programming: We created a handful of custom php templates for Akustiks such as the profiles page, which combines individual custom post types and displays them on a single page. The index page, along with each individual profile, is edited via a separate admin panel. We also created custom admin panels for each of the firm’s projects so as to maintain a consistent look throughout the frontend as well as establish an automatic index page for all projects as well as each project category.
- Comprehensive Project Management: We provided direct project management and handled all of the initial data input and design. Meaning, all Akustiks had to do was provide the content, tell us what they liked and what they wanted to modify, and we took care of the rest. Following the site launch, we began training key members on how to use the system so they can make updates, create multi-language copy, and manage Build-a-Brochure functionality.
